Your Responsibilities

• Participation in the planning and design stage of
  CNC roll grinding machines and CNC machine tools
• Burn-in test of CNC roll grinding machines and
  CNC machine tools at SBA premises
• Strong programing skills of controls in SIMATIC S7
• Good knowledge of CNC machines (milling and turning)
  is an advantage
• Start-up of CNC roll grinding machines
  and CNC machine tools worldwide
• Enrollment of customer personnel
• Support, service and maintenance of our products
• Trouble shooting hot-line via Internet

Your profile

• Completed technical education in electrical engineering / Automation / Mechatronics (HTL / FH / or technician with relevant experience)
• Job experience in special machinery is an advantage
• Good knowledge in electrical engineering (PLC programming, visualization, start-up)
• Good understanding of CNC machines (SINUMERIC)
• Good knowledge of mechanics, hydraulic are ideal
• Driving license and car are an advantage
• Very high willingness to travel; worldwide missions (including long-term, ~60 days)
• Flexibility regarding working time and location
• Good English skills and additional language skills are an advantage

Sba received two package orders from ArcelorMittal Asturias.

The first order is part of a modernization program of the complete hot mill roll shop. SBA will upgrade three roll grinders one by one. A Waldrich roll grinder used since 1992 for backup rolls and roughing mill work rolls will be modernized especially on the roll support side. This also requires a Morgoil lubrication system and lifting tables to accommodate various sizes of BUR chocks.
Modernizations are also required for two Waldrich grinders in the finishing mill to grind work rolls together with chocks. As a special feature Sba will install chock rotating and supporting technology.

The second order is placed for the cold mill roll shop and covers a major upgrade of a Farrel grinder for backup rolls and a full modernization of a Waldrich work roll grinder.

All orders cover a complete replacement of obsolete LT and KPM control systems by our latest SBA Grinder Control SINUMERIK 840Dsl, complete new electrics and integration of measuring systems like • Profile measuring and correction during grinding • Eddy current measuring • Ultra sonic measuring • Surface wave measuring.

SBA received next order for one of the longest roll grinding machines on market.

A remarkable machine bed length of 21 m will provide a traversing range beyond 17 m. Latest paper machines are coming along with bigger rolls of up to 15,000 mm in length and up to 2,300 mm in diameter. Maximum weight of this giant rolls can reach 120 to in total.

Fast developing roll cover materials require newly designed accessories, but also different grinding technologies for highest performance, accuracy and quality. Therefore Lee & Man Paper counts on our skilled roll grinding experts in terms of training and support to master their future challenges.

After two successful revamping projects at voestalpine, we proudly anounce the receipt of another order for a complete modernization of the HSM WR roll grinder WS1400.

The preceding projects were a HSM BUR roll grinder WS1800 and an Innse HSM WR roll grinder.

Following the very successful startup of their SBA Roll Grinder in Nansha (Guangzhou, China), Voith’s board of management recently decided to order another brand new grinding machine for Voith Paper Rolls Kunshan.

An extraordinary bed length of 18000 mm will provide a Z-axis travel distance of more than 15000 mm at a maximum speed of 7000 mm/min.

The new SBA Roll Grinder will be able to grind rolls up to 15000 mm overall length, grinding face length of 13000 mm and 3000 mm diameter at 100 to maximum weight. These giant rolls will be used in the latest paper machine projects in China.

The grinder will be equipped with our proven hydrostatic motor spindle for the grinding wheel. Linear guide-ways together with a 2-piece Hydropol bed allow smooth running and precision of 1 µm/m.

PT Optima Enviro Resources, Indonesia, placed an order with SBA for a complete modernization of their Voith roll grinder which is located at PT Kertas Nusantara, East-Kalimantan, Indonesia.

SBA Roll Shop Solutions has already successfully upgraded a large number of Voith roll grinders of the same kind. The machine has been originally installed in 1996 and will be equipped with the latest SIEMENS CNC control and drive system.

Hansol EME, South Korea has just ordered a new 13m roll grinder from SBA Roll Shop Solutions. The contract was signed on June 21st 2010. Our innovative technology, decade-long experience in the paper industry and the very short and challenging delivery time of only 14 months were the main decision-factors.

Our SBA roll grinder is an important part of the An Hoa Coated Paper Project and will be installed in Vinh Loi Commune, Son Duong District, Tuyen Quang Province, Vietnam.

Just before the start of the modernisation project of the CNC control and drive system for a Waldrich roll grinder at the IKPP Perawang plant, SBA received the award letter for a general mechanical overhaul and upgrade of the existing control system of Yomis Roll Grinder at the same plant in the APP group.

The existing mechanically driven crowning device will be replaced by an up-to-date servo drive system. A modern stationary roll measuring system together with our SBA Grinder Control will turn this used grinding machine into a modern CNC roll grinder with many features usually provided only by new roll grinders.
